RBNY vs San Jose
- a bit of a miracle only 1 goal was scored in first leg as there were tons of chances, great saves, posts, and crossbars to keep it to the 0-1 score. Most of the chances came from the Red Bulls who should have finished the Earthquakes off in first leg but now just have the 1 goal cushion for the home leg. Truth be told, SJ is no worse on the road than at home so I don't agree with the odds at -1 goal but due to the situation I also won't bet on SJ as they must chase the game. SJ pulled out 22 of their 46 points on the road and had nice success in the east but have never pulled a point out of New York since re-entering the league in 2008 (0-0-3 1/8). The Quakes have netted in 4 of their last 5 road games, 8 goals in total, so clearly can play counter football with Chris Wondolowski scoring their last SIX road goals, all in the month of October. If the Red Bulls can't stop him tonight we'll see some goals for sure. RBNY have posted 3 straight home shutouts and if they get up a goal or two might really pack in the defense but I truly believe they are a terrible defensive club, needing Condoul to save them game in and game out. As mentioned last week these are the two playoff clubs that have allowed the most shots and shots on goal and nothing really changed in first leg with Jon Busch forced into making 6 saves and 25 shots taken total. When higher seeded team is at home the over is a 50/50 shot since new format and there are no stats on the higher seeded team taking a lead into the 2nd leg since this is the first time it has happened. I will know right away what type of mentality RBNY come into the game with...if Ballouchy is playing, they are attacking but if he's sitting in place of Tchani they will play defensively. I trust Hans Backe as he's played many playoff-type series in his career (FCK, PAO in Europe for example) so he knows even a 1-0 road win can be overturned easily. Weather a bit chilly and rainy but overall not unexpected for November in New Jersey.

hi ww, you posted just as I was typing my preview. tiny bet but for your viewing pleasure...

LA Galaxy vs Seattle
- been flip flopping on this game. I really like Seattle's chances to overturn the 1-0 first leg just like San Jose did, but the conspiracy theorist in me believes the league will do anything in it's power to see the Galaxy get to the title game. The playoffs have been a disaster for the league as the higher seed has prevailed in all 3 series which has knocked out last year's champ, 2008's champ, and the high profile Red Bulls. If the final 4 were to be Seattle, San Jose, Colorado, and Dallas it would be, more or less, a disaster. But, conspiracies aside here is why I am betting a minimum stake on Seattle.

LA are really better on the road than at home. Defensively they make no mistakes away from home but in Home Depot they are very sloppy. Two non playoff teams, KC and Chicago, won here in August, then both the Red Bulls and Colorado won h ere in the past few games and all 4 of those teams scored multiple goals. IN fact, they've not posted a home clean sheet since drawing 0-0 with Toronto all the way back in May! They are only 3-0-4 here since August allowing nearly 2 gpg so clearly are a team that plays very different at home. The over is an impressive 9-2 in their last 11 league games at Home Depot with the only unders being a pair of 0-2 losses. Throw in the fact that Seattle have netted in 9 of last 10 league road games and I am fairly confident the Sounders don't get shutout. Seattle's also posted clean sheets in 5 of their last 8 road games and have posted a 5-1-2 road record since the Galaxy beat them in July. Simply put, the Galaxy are overfavored in this game and don't seem to want to defend at home so I'll throw a small bet on the Sounders with money back if the match ends in draw.

Seattle away win .5u +450 (to win 2u)

yes RR big tide fan...never considered they would lose to fn LSU and made today especially painful knowing season is over. I have no doubts we destroy the Barn in 19 days...next week at MSU is a bad situation but the Barn season will be over come Friday after Tgiving.
